How to use Midjourney to create a logo?

Since July 2022, Midjourney has established itself as a reference in terms of generative artificial intelligence of visuals. Just enter a sentence in natural language (a “prompt”) and Midjourney interprets it to draw a series of tailor-made images.

The applications of such a solution are multiple, with, among them, the creation of a personalized logo. Do you lack inspiration? Want to brainstorm for less? Midjourney is here to help. As the tool is actually a Discord robot, you must first open a Midjourney account and Discord account. This will allow you to access the dedicated server.

How to use MidJourney to create a logo?

1. Go to one of the public Discord rooms for image generation (eg #newbies-xx)

You can also chat with the robot directly in private message or install it on your personal Discord server. To join a room on the official Midjourney Discord server, select it on the left side of your screen.

As you can see, the images obtained here are rather graphically loaded, whereas a logo must be minimalist enough to be easily recognizable.

You can start from scratch or modify one of the previous prompts.

NB: Midjourney cannot read or write. He does not understand the meaning of words, grammar, or sentence structure. He doesn’t always even know the shape of the letters very well. This is the reason why it is useless to ask him to integrate the name of your company, including in the current version 5.1.

Your logo is created, in outline. Unfortunately, as we have seen, the company name is not included and Midjourney does not take hex tints into account either, so that your logo is the exact colors of your sign. In order to finalize the logo, you need to use an image editor such as Photoshop, Illustrator or Gimp. You can also turn to Canva, an online tool whose features, even in the free version, can give very good results.
