That is how it works
To use the AirTag, grab your iPhone or iPad and pull out the battery strip in the tracker. The tracker then connects directly to your smartphone. Press To connect, give the tracker a name and press Next one. Now the AirTag will want to record the location of your iPhone. You do this using your Apple ID. Now open the Find My app, tap at the bottom of the screen Objects and then on add object.
Now hang the AirTag on your keys, for example. Every time you lose your keys, you can now go to the Find My app and tap Objects and then on AirTag to the option Play sound to activate. Your phone then sends a signal to your AirTag via bluetooth, after which the AirTag makes a sound.
Then it probably won’t be long before you find the AirTag. If you have trouble finding the tracker despite the sound, you can use the Ultra Wideband technology on an iPhone 11 or 12.
