Huawei Watch GT 4 review with unique design and improved health measurements

Huawei has released a new series of smart stainless steel GT 4 watches, as the successor to the Huawei GT 3. This new series consists of 4 models with a business or rugged look and a 46mm diameter and 3 models with a luxuriously elegant look with a diameter of 41mm. mm. In addition to a new, more fashionable design, many improvements have been made. All watches are compatible with Android and iOS.

Performances
The appearance of a watch is worth a lot and there is an appealing model available in this series for everyone. The 46mm variants have an octagonal design and are available in four different variants. The bright Amoled screen measures 1.43 inches with 466 x 466 pixels. The three 41mm models have a round gold-colored case with a white, light gold or silver strap. The screen is 1.32 inches, also with 466 x 466 pixels. The dial, there are many thousands of them and also as Always On Display, can be adjusted to your own taste. If desired, dials can also be created yourself with a range of options. The weight is about 48 grams for the 46mm model and 37 grams for the 41mm model; the latter model is intended for a smaller wrist circumference of up to 19 cm.

Characteristics
The controls of the watches are identical and all smartwatches are equipped with HarmonyOS 4.0. Data is exchanged with your phone and the Huawei Health app via Bluetooth. The 46mm variant has a battery that lasts up to 14 days and up to 7 days for the 41mm variant. A world of difference compared to the Samsung Watch6 that you have to charge every day! If it is used intensively, such as during sports, the battery life of the Watch GT 4’s is approximately half. Always on will further reduce the usage time to 4 and 2 days respectively.
A wireless QI charger is included, which means the battery is full again after about 1.5 hours. The water resistance is 5 ATM and therefore also suitable for swimming, while the IP rating is 68. NFC, microphone, speaker and many sensors including speed, gyroscope, magneto, optical heart, barometer and temperature are integrated. The sensors can be activated via the app.

Optimizations
The GPS is optimized with multiple antennas and supports up to 5 systems. Activity Rings 2.0 tracks movements, exercises and sleep, while Calorie Management provides an overview of calorie intake. Heart rate monitoring has been improved with the TruSeen 5.5+ heart rate monitor. There can be one community can be created, so that family members can, for example, receive an alarm if a family member needs attention. There is now also a special agenda for women. In addition, there are many other areas for improvement that optimize the quality of measurement and display it via a restyled Health-app.

Usage
For testing we had access to the 41mm model in Light Gold. It is comfortable to wear and easy to operate via the rotating Home push button at the top right and the Side push button at the bottom right. This gives you a view of the dial and then the available apps. You can set all kinds of things, perform exercises, track calories, monitor breathing during sleep and much more that we can’t describe. It works quickly and the results generated look good.

Conclusion
The appearance of this series of watches is unique, there is a lot of functionality, the measurements have been improved and the battery life is great. If you are looking for a nice, high-quality design for a smartwatch, then this watch is recommended.
