Hyundai and Apple sign collaboration in March

Hyundai and Apple reportedly conclude their collaboration in March, according to the news agency Reuters from an article by Korea IT News. By 2024, the two companies want to be able to produce 100,000 copies a year of Apple’s as yet unknown car.

At the end of last week it was announced that Hyundai and Apple would be in talks about a possible collaboration. Hyundai already briefly released something about it, but later adjusted its statement. However, the details of the agreement, which may be signed in March, are starting to become more concrete. For example, the two parties are planning to build the Apple car at the Kia factory in Georgia, or invest jointly in a new American factory. From 2024, 100,000 cars a year will have to roll off the assembly line. The maximum annual capacity would then be 400,000 cars per year. Incidentally deleted Korea IT News these details according to Reuters later from the article.

It is not yet known exactly what Apple’s car will look like. It is quite possible that Apple wants to use Hyundai’s E-GMP platform for the chassis. Incidentally, it seems that the tech company itself wants to develop the battery for ‘Project Titan’, as the car project is called internally. According to the source, Hyundai and Apple want to have a beta version of the car ready by next year. It will have to be seen whether we can catch a glimpse of the final car.
