Flitsmeister helps prevent fines by warning about speed cameras, but more apps can do that: these are the best alternative options.
Your best options as an alternative to Flitsmeister
If you just stick to the speed, you don’t need an app like Flitsmeister at all. Nevertheless, it is a very popular app in the Netherlands.
If you use Flitsmeister via CarPlay, you are probably curious about alternative options. Since last May you have had to pay for that functionality of Flitsmeister and most alternative options for Flitsmeister do not require this. We list the best of those options for you!
1. Waze
An obvious alternative option to Flitsmeister is Wazefrom Google. Waze works in a similar way to Flitsmeister and, thanks to its growing community, is known for providing better warnings about things you will encounter along the way. Think of traffic jams and accidents, but also of speed cameras and mobile speed cameras. Although Waze works excellently, the reliability when it comes to mobile flashes is still slightly less than with Flitsmeister.
2.Range
The app Range is a comparable option to Waze, but like Flitsmeister, slightly more focused on speed checks and less on other traffic nuisance. It is also not possible to navigate with Range. Range only provides controls and works because of the people who use it. Here too, there are more and more of them. Reporting new checks and confirming existing checks is very simple.
3. Radar bot
According to the makers of Radarbot, this is the only app that combines real-time alerts with the best offline speed camera reporting system. With Radarbot you have the best speed cameras, real-time traffic alerts and specific speed limits in one powerful app. You can navigate via another app, or via Radarbot. You can try the latter option for free, but then you have to pay for it (€ 5.99 per month).
4. TomTom AmiGO
TomTom AmiGO provides warnings for all situations that could be dangerous, including roadside speed cameras. If you follow a planned route, the warnings are the most accurate. You receive warnings for fixed speed cameras and mobile speed cameras, which are also visible and audible.
Which of these Flitsmeister options is best?
That is very personal. These four apps are all excellent alternative options to Flitsmeister. Which of the four is best for you remains a matter of trial and error.
Do you prefer Flitsmeister, but don’t feel like paying for a subscription? Then simply use the app on your iPhone and not via CarPlay. This way, Flitsmeister is still free to use and you don’t need any other options.
