IKEA releases new app: you need to know this
IKEA has given its app a new look and together with France we are the first to get started with it. The application has been completely redesigned with three pillars in mind: inspire, inform and convenience.
1. Inspire
Many people do a ‘day at IKEA’ every now and then and thanks to the app you can now do this virtually. Just like on the website, they try to inspire you with nice living tips, interesting furniture compositions and surprising combinations.
The search function is also a lot faster and smarter and therefore makes better suggestions. You can also easily search for product groups, such as bathroom items or kitchen accessories, using filters.
2. Inform
As soon as you have found a nice sofa, cabinet or chair, tap the product, after which you can directly compare the product with alternatives. The reviews written by other customers also indicate how well the mattress actually lies, or how firm the corner sofa is. Photos are central to the app.
3. Convenience
Are you out? Then you can now easily make purchases in the IKEA app. You can pay with iDeal, credit card or afterwards. The delivery costs take into account your living floor and the products you have ordered.
All in all, this is a big improvement, because in the previous version you could only compile a shopping list. After this, you still had to search for the products in the store. From now on, this purchase list will be synchronized with the version of the website.

The new IKEA app is currently rolling out for iOS. Because this is a phased update, it may take a few days to receive the software. The old app will automatically convert to the new version.
