iMac 2021 price: the differences in the picture
A new look, but a lower price than its predecessor: Apple unveiled the replacement for the 21-inch iMac on Tuesday during the April event.
- iMac 2021 with 7-core GPU and 256GB storage: 1,449 euros
- iMac 2021 with 8-core GPU and 256GB storage: 1,669 euros
- iMac 2021 with 8-core GPU and 512GB storage: 1,899 euros
Some specifications are the same between the three configurations. All 2021 iMacs are equipped with Apple’s M1 chip, have a 24-inch 4.5K Retina screen and 8GB of wake-up memory. Then the differences become visible. We discuss them below. That way you know exactly which iMac 2021 suits you best.
iMac 2021 entry-level model: 1,449 euros
The entry-level model of the 24-inch iMac costs 1,449 euros. You get an iMac with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. There are two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports on the back.
Included is a power cord and AC adapter and a Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard in a matching color. You charge it with the included USB-C to Lightning cable. The entry-level model is available in the colors blue, green, red and silver.
iMac 2021 with 8-core GPU: EUR 1,669
For just over two hundred euros more you get the mid-model of the 2021 iMac. This one has everything the entry-level model has, with a number of improvements on top. Starting with an 8-core GPU, which makes graphics-intensive tasks run more smoothly.
In addition, this model has two extra USB 3 ports and the option to connect a gigabit Ethernet cable in the battery box. Finally, the included Magic Keyboard has a Touch ID fingerprint scanner built in. With that you can safely unlock the iMac and make payments with Apple Pay. This model is available in the colors blue, green, red, silver, yellow, orange and purple.
iMac 2021 with 8-core GPU and 512GB storage: 1,899 euros
The high-end model is another 200 euros more expensive than the mid-range model. All specifications and included accessories are the same, with the only difference that you have a built-in memory of 512GB instead of 256GB.
This will be especially useful for people who make little or no use of cloud services to store their files, or who want to use the desktop to edit or store large files. The internal memory of the iMac cannot be expanded afterwards, so it is important to think carefully about this in advance. This most expensive model is also available in the colors blue, green, red, silver, yellow, orange and purple.
Pre-order the iMac starting Friday, April 30
The iMac 2021 can be pre-ordered in the Netherlands from Friday, April 30. The first copies will then be delivered in the second half of May. It is not known how large the stock is at Apple.
