The corn rootworm, which is feared in corn cultivation, is spreading more and more in Germany. A biopesticide produced using RNA interference technology is intended to help combat it without the use of chemicals.

Insects can do us more good, but they can also do more harm than is commonly thought. Researching this and developing new solutions for the well-being of people is the goal of a still young branch of science, yellow biotechnology.
