Indian Motorcycle, America’s First Motorcycle Company, has taken over the FTR family for model year 2023. An important newcomer is the FTR Sport, which replaces the FTR S and positions itself just below the premium FTR R Carbon, but above the FTR and the FTR Rally.

According to the Americans, the FTR Sport is designed for riders who want to leave the daily grind behind and enjoy a pure form of motorcycling. He looks tough. Parts with a sporty look, such as the license plate holder, the lower fairing and the seat panels, give this FTR an even more dynamic appearance.
The FTR Sport features a redesigned tank panel and is available in Black Metallic with Indy Red accents or White Lightning with Indy Red and Black Metallic accents. He gives a completely new interpretation to the concept of the powerful American V-twin. With its distinctive muscular design, the FTR is a true American icon.
For model year 2023, the FTR Sport, FTR Rally and FTR R Carbon feature a 101mm circular touchscreen display with Ride Command and navigation. The FTR features three riding modes (Sport, Standard and Rain), Lean Angle Sensitive Stability Control and ABS to ensure confidence-inspiring and predictable handling in all conditions.
All four FTR models now feature a sport exhaust and a modified braking system that Indian says feels firmer. Indian Motorcycle also raised the speedometer for better readability and installed a new clutch for a smoother feel.
The FTR Rally is equipped with 19 and 18 inch wire wheels with studded tires. This version is available in the new Black Smoke paintwork with a Desert Earth frame and Indian Motorcycle’s iconic War Bonnet on the tank.

The FTR R Carbon stands out as a premium version with carbon components, a high-quality saddle, a fully adjustable gold-tone Öhlins fork and a gold-tone piggyback shock. The iconic Indian logo on the tank panels is exclusive to the FTR R Carbon. Moreover, this version is finished in the beautiful color Cloud Silver with Championship Gold piping.
Key elements of the basic FTR trim are taken from other FTR models, such as the redesigned tank panel that is also used on the FTR Sport. In addition, new, striking colors should have made the renewed FTR even more attractive.
The FTR is available in Metallic Black with the model name and rear shock in Lifted Lime contrasting color. Another option is the color Stealth Gray in combination with the model name, the rear shock absorber and the wheels in the color Orange Burst.
Nine new accessories are available to adapt the FTR even more to your own taste. In collaboration with Gilles Tooling, Indian Motorcycle offers several accessories under the name of both brands, such as adjustable Performance rear sets and three solid metal parts: grip end caps, an oil cap and a radiator cap. Adjustable Performance levers will be available from Spring 2023.
Indian Motorcycle is also expanding its range of carbon accessories with three new parts: an exhaust heat shield, a frame protector and a sprocket cover. For extra comfort, Indian Motorcycle introduces a durable and weather-resistant Comfort+ saddle that offers a comfortable riding position, thanks in part to extra foam material applied in the right places.
