Indian Motorcycle Company has rolled out a recall for the 2025 Challenger Dark Horse, Pursuit Limited, Roadmaster Elite and Springfield Dark Horse. As a result of a incorrectly pushed power wire, the fuel pump can fail and turn off the engine while driving. In a sausage case scenario, this can lead to a crash.
On January 13, 2025, Indian Motorcycle Company discovered a suspicious fuel pump in production, to which the supplier was contacted. Four days later, IMC received an analysis from the supplier, with a list of the suspicious fuel pumps. A power cable turned out to be incorrectly scattered, so that the power could disappear.
An inspection of the inventory confirmed that the suspect fuel pumps were used during assembly. IMC’s Executive Review Committee decided that the disappearance of the drive due to a defect in the fuel pump is a safety issue and decided to recall a recall.
IMC has not received any reports from the market that engines have actually stopped. At the Indian dealer, the gas pumps will be inspected and replaced if necessary. The repair is – of course – free, but the gasoline still present in the tank is not reimbursed.
