Apple has released the third beta of iOS 15.6. This is the next mid-term update to the iPhone, and may well be the last before iOS 16 arrives.

The beta comes two weeks after the release of iOS 15.6 beta 2. Only developers can install the trial version of iOS 15.6, through the Apple Developer Center.
New features haven’t been spotted in iOS 15.6 yet. It seems that – just like with iOS 15.5 – it is a small interim update, which focuses on improving stability. iOS 15.4, on the other hand, was a major interim update, with many new iPhone features.
Latest update for iOS 16?
iOS 15.6 is probably one of the last updates of iOS 15. Apple is now mainly focusing on iOS 16. The new features of this iPhone operating system were announced on June 6, during WWDC 2022.
What particularly catches the eye are the possibilities with the iPhone lock screen. There it is possible to add widgets from iOS 16. For example, you add a Calendar widget, in which you immediately see your next appointment.
Furthermore, it becomes possible to change your iPhone wallpaper based on the location or time. There’s also a cool feature to make subjects in your photos detached with one simple tap. And the Weather app has a few more features.
