When to download iOS 16
Apple already showed a lot this year at the opening of the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). As always, Apple kicked off with a big keynote. During this presentation, the company announced new software versions for almost all devices.
This year’s big update will be iOS 16, but when can you actually download the new update? Just after WWDC, it will only be possible for developers to download the ‘developer beta’ of iOS 16. In July, the public beta of iOS 16 will be available to everyone.
Real iOS 16 release after iPhone 14 announcement
The eventual release of iOS 16 will follow when Apple will announce the iPhone 14 devices. Usually, Apple announces the new iPhone in the second or third week of September, on a Monday or Tuesday. The year 2020 was an exception, partly due to delays in the production chain due to the corona virus.
So if we look at previous years, there will probably be another keynote on September 13 in which the new iPhone 14 will be presented. Usually the following days will be the time when you can download OS 16. Most likely that will be on September 19, but Apple has already made an iOS update available a day after the keynote.
