Another interim update is coming for iOS 17, as iOS 17.1.2 is released this week. Apple previously launched iOS 17.1.1 to fix problems with Apple Pay and the Weather app. Unfortunately, not all problems were solved in iOS 17, which means that Apple now has to release another minor update. With iOS 17.1.2, Apple is once again focusing on bug fixes.

It is not surprising that an interim update is released for iOS 17, because users are still experiencing internet problems. This is not the only operating system that has to deal with bugs, watchOS 10, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma also did not work properly. These problems were so serious that Apple temporarily halted the development of new operating systems.
Connection issues in iOS 17
By pausing development of iOS 18 and visionOS, developers were able to fully focus on fixing all the issues in the existing operating systems. The biggest problem that needs to be solved in iOS 17.1.2 has to do with the internet connection of iPhones. Users have poorer mobile range and connection problems with WiFi.
As a result, the internet often works slowly on iPhones running iOS 17.1. Even when switching to mobile data, the internet connection does not work properly. Very annoying of course, but this bug has already been resolved in the test version of iOS 17.2. Unfortunately, this was not yet the case in iOS 17.1.1, but it is expected that Apple will fix this problem with iOS 17.1.2.
When can you update?
In addition, problems with notifications and Apple’s HomeKit will likely be resolved in the new update. With the latter, the automations no longer work since installing iOS 17. In some cases, when receiving a notification, the iPhone no longer makes a sound. These issues will hopefully also be resolved in iOS 17.1.2.

You don’t have to wait long for the update, because iOS 17.1.2 is expected to appear tonight or tomorrow evening. Typically, Apple releases new iOS updates on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. So the new update will probably appear November 28 or 29 at 7 p.m on your iPhone.
