Apple has released a new update for the iPhone. But what has changed in iOS 17.6 beta 2? And are there any new features at all?
iOS 17.6 beta 2 is out: this is what’s new
We can be brief: it seems that Apple has not released any new features in the beta 2 of iOS 17.6. The update probably contains mainly bug fixes and a number of software updates.
It is not so strange, because all the features that Apple announced for iOS 17 have now been implemented. In the first beta of iOS 17.6 there were also no new features to be found. The new features NameDrop, Diary and the standby mode are all already present.
Apple does not provide any further explanation of what is new in the description of iOS 17.6 beta 2. This is therefore a minor update this time. For new features, you will have to go to the next version of the operating system (iOS 18).
This is when iOS 18 is coming
iOS 17.6 (beta 2) will probably be the last release of iOS 17. After that, it will be iOS 18’s turn. Unfortunately, this version of the operating system will have to wait a while. Apple will not release the update until September. That’s also when macOS Sequoia and watchOS 11 will be released. There is already a beta of iOS 18 that you can install, but the final release will not be until the keynote in September.
In addition, you will have to wait longer for important functions anyway, such as Apple Intelligencebecause Apple won’t be bringing these features to Europe until next year.
