Apple has released a new update for the iPhone! Here’s everything you need to know about the new features in iOS 18.2 beta 3!
iOS 18.2 beta 3
A new beta has been released for iOS 18.2. Beta 3 contains a number of small improvements and new features. Unfortunately, in the EU we still have to wait for the Apple Intelligence features to come here. According to Apple, this has to do with the Digital Markets Act of the European Union. Fortunately, the following updates are widely available.
New icons for CarPlay
Apple plans to change the icons of CarPlay. They are not yet available in your car, but a number of icons have already been updated in beta 3 of iOS 18.2.
Changes in the Photos app
Apple has made a small change to the Photos app. When you open a video in the Photos app and tap it, the image zooms in and the gallery at the bottom of the screen disappears. The progress bar of the video is also no longer visible.
In the beta, the Photos app no longer does that. The gallery and progress bar will then both remain visible.
Camera controller
There is a new option in the Camera Control Settings. First, the iPhone 16’s screen had to be always on before you could use the controller. This option also allows you to use the camera controller when the screen is not yet on.
More minor adjustments
Fixed an issue with audio playback and search for AirTags, AirPods, and other trackers. In addition, the AirPlay icon has been slightly adjusted.
Official release of iOS 18.2
But when will iOS 18.2 be available to everyone? The update will most likely be available for download for every iPhone with iOS 18 on Monday, December 9 or December 10. So just be patient!
