Just before the beginning of April, Apple had suddenly made iOS 18.4 available for all iPhones with iOS 18. It contains quite a few innovations and fun functions. For example, the photos app has received new options and CarPlay has a few improvements. However, the most important update comes for Apple Intelligence and there is even a way to use these AI functions in the Netherlands.

That all sounds nice and nice, but more and more users say they encounter several problems in iOS 18.4. One of the most frequently heard complaint is that apps that had long since removed from the iPhone have surfaced.

Users on Reddit, X and the forums of Apple all complain about the same problem. It is not known what the exact cause of this issue is. It also seems to be a general problem for every iPhone, because users all over the world complain about it. It is also not with specific apps, because it occurs in games that were only installed for Apple’s apps as a garage.

Automatic updates also cause problems

One of the other problems in iOS 18.4 occurs with the automatic updates. After installation, that option is always on. Previously this function was set as standard. This will automatically install the following updates on your iPhone.

Different users complain about this. They don’t want updates to be installed immediately, because there can often still be problems in the update.

It is possible to turn off the automatic updates afterwards. You do that under ‘Settings> General> Software update’. Tap ‘automatic updates’ and turn off the desired options.

We still have to wait and see what Apple will do about these problems. In any case, we expect an update for iOS 18.4 quickly.
