iOS 26, iPados 26 and MacOS Tahoe Solve annoyances: This is how you cancel changes

After installing Apple’s newest software updates, drastic changes have been made to the iPhone, iPad and Mac. Do you have annoyances after updating to iOS 26, iPados 26 or macOS Tahoe? This way you can undo some changes and return to the familiar experience.

The Liquid Glass in particular is getting used to for many users, but also the new display in Safari, adjustments to the keyboard, the disappearance of launchpad, windows for iPad and taking screenshots. We explain how you can reverse some annoyances. Is it not listed? Then leave this in the reactions and we are looking for a solution.

Parts difficult to read by Liquid Glass

In iOS 26 and iPados 26, some users experience problems with the new Liquid Glass display, a form of dynamic transparency and shine that has been implemented in the interface. Although this visual style is meant to give a modern and fluent appearance, it appears in practice that texts, icons and certain interface parts are more difficult to read. The background colors and light effects can merge too much, which means that contrast and clarity decrease and users have difficulty recognizing information quickly.

Adjust Liquid Glass

You can adjust the Liquid Glass design via the accessibility settings of your iPhone, iPad or Mac, by lowering the transparency for a frosted glass effect and thus alleviating the background. In addition, you can increase the contrast to make buttons, text and other elements easier to read.

  • Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  • Navigate to ‘accessibility’
  • Tap ‘display and text size’
  • Select the ‘Make less transparent’ option
  • Optionally you can also switch on ‘increase contrast’

This option improves the contrast by reducing the transparency and blurring of backgrounds, which increases readability. In addition, surfaces behind buttons are added for better distinction, such as in the photos app.

Return old safari layout

Safari also uses the new Liquid Glass. This ensures that the display is more minimalist than ever, which can also be seen in the tabs and address bar. Apple has chosen to merge these two elements into one compact display.

During scrolling, the buttons and tabbeam reduces a narrow beam with only the URL address, so that your screen becomes less distracted. Do you miss the familiar safari design of iOS 18? Then you can restore the old layout so that you have access to multiple buttons in Safari. How do you read back in the highlighted article below.

Switch off -filling screenshots off

When you create a screenshot in iOS 26, a screen -filling display is activated so that the screenshot can edit or share. When Apple Intelligence is active on your iPhone, you can use Visual Intelligence via this road to analyze the content of the screenshot.

Would you rather not want screens filling screen images? Then you can switch this off via Settings â–¸ General â–¸ Square Image â–¸ Switch off the ‘Filling Pre -Thones’ option. Then you only see a preview of your screenshot in the left under corner; By tapping on this, the screenshot is displayed in full.

Restore keyboard Pre -dress

With iOS 16, Apple has switched off the prevention of pressed tests as standard. This makes types different, especially for users who are used to the ‘old’ iPhone keyboard where the test was briefly displayed. Go to Settings â–¸ General â–¸ Keyboard â–¸ Select the ‘Preview sign’ option.

Favorites in Telefoon app

Telephone app is the foundation of your iPhone and has hardly undergone a change in recent years. Since iOS 26, the app has a new design, so that all your favorites, recent conversations and voicemails are now in one place. By merging tabs you can see at a glance what you missed and you can quickly start a new conversation.

At the top of the ‘Calling’ tab you will find your favorites including their contact poster, below that your recent calls will be displayed. These not only contain your missed calls and telephone calls made, but also your Visual Voicemail messages.

Do you want to go back to the old display? Then open the telephone app and go to the ‘Calling’ tab. Tap at the top of the three horizontal stripes (filter menu) and choose ‘classic’.

Switch off windows for iPad

In iPados 26, a new window is sometimes accidentally created when you don’t mean that, which can be confusing. Moreover, closing these windows can be difficult, which makes multitasking sometimes feel more awkward than before. Do you want to use your iPad in the ‘old way’? Then you can use only screen -filling apps.

As an iPad user you have the choice between three options that you can set as standard on the iPad. This way you can always use screen -filling apps, internship manager or the new apps in windows. To do this, go to Settings â–¸ Multitasking and gestures â–¸ Choose a desired multitasking. You can also switch on the automatic closing of windows via the designated button.

Return launchpad for Mac

With the introduction of MacOS Tahoe, Apple is putting an end to Launchpad for Mac. With this function you could view, manage and open all your installed apps on your Mac at a glance. From now on you can find this overview (limited) in spotlight.

For many, Launchpad was the starting point to work with apps on macOS. Because the function now definitively removed is, this change marks an important shift in the way users open and manage their applications. Unfortunately you can no longer restore Launchpad.
