iOS 26 is annoying problem on the iPhone (after a long wait)
The first thing that stands out on iOS 26 is the new appearance. Many apps, windows and notifications now have a kind of ‘glass’ look. Apple calls it Liquid Glass and it is one of the biggest changes for the iPhone for years.
In addition, there are also many new functions and improvements in the operating system. And one of them finally solves an annoying problem.
This annoying problem is in the Messages app. If you now want to copy part of a message, you can’t. You only have the option to reproduce the entire message. With iOS 26 that is finally changing.
In iOS 26 you get an option in iOS 26 if you hold your finger on a speech bubble for a moment. In addition to the usual ‘copy’, you can also see the ‘Select’ option appear. When you choose this, the message is selected and you will see a ball with a dash at the front and back. With that you can then select and copy part of the message.

This year Apple is leaving the familiar numbering of the iPhone control system. Instead of iOS 19, the company comes with iOS 26, named after the year 2026. This new naming also applies to Watchos, iPados, MacOS, TVOS and Visionos.
iOS 26 will be released in September. Apple usually chooses to release new software versions on Monday or Tuesday, a week after the launch of the new iPhones. The official release of iOS 26 will probably fall on Monday 15 September or Tuesday 16 September.
