iOS apps will be automatically removed: you can do this

Do you notice that some iOS apps on your iPhone or iPad automatically disappear, and you have to download and install them again to use them? There is a simple trick to prevent it, so that you do not lose apps unsolicited.

Apps are removed from your iPhone

If you have many apps on your iPhone or iPad, some applications may be automatically removed after a while. Annoying, because you have to put them back on your device to be able to use them again. However, the problem sounds more complicated than it is. For a while now, iOS has had an option that automatically removes apps when they are hardly used. The feature is called ‘Clean up apps’ and it helps users free up storage space.

Although the feature ensures that accompanying documents and data do not disappear, you do have to reinstall the app. If you want to prevent your apps from being automatically removed, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad;
  2. Swipe down and tap iTunes Store & App Store;
  3. Swipe down again and make sure the switch behind ‘Clean up apps’ is turned off.

Once you have done this, all applications will remain on your iOS device. If you find it useful afterwards that iOS ‘thinks along’ with you and removes apps that you do not use often, then you can turn the function back on by following the same steps.
