1. New processor
Apple has equipped the iPad mini 2024 with a new chip. While the iPad mini 2021 still runs on the A15 chip, Apple has opted for the new generation A17 Pro chip. That is a big step, which means that the tablet has support for Apple Intelligence. Only devices with an A17 Pro or M chip work with Apple Intelligence, the company’s new AI technology.
The iPad mini 2024 runs on the same processor as the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This means the device can handle the toughest tasks, even if multiple commands are executed simultaneously. The new AI functions are mainly run locally on the iPad, which is not a problem with the new chip. It is also suitable for photo and video editing A17 Pro chip enough computing power.
2. Apple Intelligence

4. Well-known design and camera
Apple has mainly made changes under the hood with the iPad mini 2024. The design has been slightly modified, making the tablet resemble the iPad mini 2021. The device again has an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina screen and is locked with Touch ID. The casing is made of aluminum, just like the iPad mini 2021. The colors are space gray, starlight, purple and blue – although the latter looks more like green. The camera has remained unchanged and therefore takes snapshots with 12 megapixels. Nice: the storage capacity now starts at 128 GB, while the price at 609 euros is only slightly higher than the predecessor.
What has probably also been improved is the LCD screen. This means the iPad will no longer be affected jelly scrolling.
