It looks like we will get an iPad mini 7 in 2023 after all. The small version of the iPad was last updated in 2021. But according to various rumors, a new version will be released this year.
Jelly scrolling
The previous iPad mini was mainly in the news because of the problem with scrolling. With ‘jelly scrolling’ it seemed as if scrolling text and images on one side of the screen was faster than the other side. Once you see it, it was impossible to unsee. Apple responded to the reports and said it is normal behavior for an LCD screen.
ProMotion no more
Many rumors therefore said that Apple would now choose to give the iPad mini 7 a ProMotion screen in 2023. That would mean that the scrolling problem is finally over. Yet according to recent rumors, not much will change with the next iPad mini. There is also no trace of the ProMotion screen.
iPad mini 7 will be a minor update
DigiTimes and ShrimpApplePro both say that an iPad Mini 7 will be released this year. The rumors now mainly think that it will be a small update. Apple will probably announce the iPad mini 7, which will be released in 2023, via press releases.
It is not yet certain what exactly will be upgraded with the iPad mini 7. But the rumors say that the small iPad will get a better chip. In addition, the camera, both front and rear, is expected to receive an upgrade.
