‘iPad Ultra’ on the way (forget the big iPad Pro)

Think the iPad Pro is huge already? Forget it! Apple is rumored to be working on an extra-large tablet, even bigger than the iPad Pro.

Apple is working on an extra-large iPad

If you think that the iPad Pro 2022 12.9 inch is Apple’s largest tablet, it turns out that the company is working on an even larger iPad. That’s what Wayne Ma says from the website The Information. The new iPad is said to be 16 inches in size.

An oversized 16-inch iPad would be aimed at creative professionals. You should think of graphic designers who actually want a larger screen to work on.

More specific details about the large iPad were not given. In comparison: the screen of the new tablet is then just as large as that of the MacBook Pro 2021. That is a big upgrade compared to the 12.9 inches of the iPad Pro 2022.

This rumor is not entirely out of the blue. Reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman also said last year that Apple is considering a larger iPad. In addition, well-known analyst Ross Young said early this year that Apple is working on a 14-inch iPad Pro with mini LED.

This would mean a 16-inch iPad and a ‘smaller’ 14.1-inch iPad on the way. The largest iPad is currently the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2022.

iPad Pro 2022

The iPad Pro 2022 looks a lot like the previous version, but has a super-fast M2 chip (which can also be found in the MacBook Air 2022). In addition, the tablet now supports the faster WiFi 6E, there is a new ‘hover’ function for the Apple Pencil and the tablet comes with support for ProRes video.
