Even better photos!

The cameras of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with an upgrade that allows photos in a resolution of 48MP. You just have to dive into the settings for that. This only works if you enable Apple ProRaw.
Unfortunately, this feature is not available for the standard iPhone 14 and the Plus. If you are one of the lucky ones with an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, you can get started with Apple ProRaw.
iPhone 14 Pro: what is Apple ProRaw?
ProRaw was introduced in 2020 for the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. ProRaw is a photo file format and can take users’ photos to the next level. The file format has since reappeared in the Pro models, right up to the 14 Pro and Pro Max.
That higher level is because you have much more freedom when editing photos. For example, you can adjust the white balance, exposure, and color tones of the raw photo. ProRaw files therefore take up a bit more space. Other well-known file formats, such as JPEG and HEIF, throw away important elements of a photo that you can’t recover.

How to set up ProRaw
Open the Settings on an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, then press Camera. Then press at the top File Formats and switch Apple ProRaw in. Now if you go to your Camera app, you can click on the rawicon to enable ProRaw on your iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max. Then make sure the resolution is set to 48MP for those ultra-sharp shots.
While shooting, you can turn ProRaw on and off whenever you want. This can be useful, for example, if you want to save storage space on your device. Do you want to use ProRaw as the default setting? Then go to Camera and press Save settings. Then make sure Apple ProRaw here is enabled to save the setting.
