iPhone 15 Plus vs. iPhone 14 Plus: the differences
Apple introduced four new iPhones in September, including the iPhone 15 Plus. The first Plus iPhone was released in 2022, but how much better is the successor? And what are the main differences between the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus? We list them for you!
1. Camera with more zoom
The most important differences between the iPhone 15 Plus and the iPhone 14 Plus can be found in the camera. The iPhone 15 Plus has a camera with a 48-megapixel sensor for the first time. A considerable improvement, because the iPhone 14 (Plus) still has to make do with a 12-megapixel camera.
Another new feature of the iPhone 15 Plus camera is the option to switch the focus of a photo from one subject to another afterwards. Very nice, because the iPhone automatically takes a portrait photo if it recognizes a person, cat or dog in the photo.
In addition, the iPhone 15 (Plus) now has a 2x optical zoom. By the way, everything has remained the same with the front camera (the selfie camera).
2. Soft pastel colors
The iPhone 15 Plus has received a number of new colors. These are the colors you can choose from:

The iPhone 14 Plus is available in these colors:
- Midnight (black)
- Starlight (white)

3. Faster chip
The iPhone 15 Plus has a new chip. The iPhone 14 Plus still had to make do with an A15 chip, but in the iPhone 15 Plus you will find an A16 chip. This is the same chip as in the iPhone 14 Pro.
The new chip is a bit faster than the one in the iPhone 14 Plus, but you won’t notice much of that in practice. The A15 in the iPhone 14 Plus is already fast enough. The new chip is also somewhat more efficient. What you see in the battery life. The iPhone 15 Plus lasts a little longer with a full battery than the iPhone 14 Plus.
4. Dynamic Island (daaag notch)
When you place the iPhone 15 Plus next to the iPhone 14 Plus, the notch (or lack thereof) is one of the differences you immediately see. The iPhone 14 Plus has another notch, this is the black notch at the top of the screen.
With the iPhone 15 Plus this has now changed to the Dynamic Island. This is an oval recess at the location of the notch. What’s extra cool is that it adapts to what you do with your iPhone.
If someone calls you, the screen around the recess will show a message. With a timer you will see the time counting down at this location. And if you connect your iPhone to the charger, the Dynamic Island will show how much battery percentage you currently have.
The Dynamic Island also displays background activity, such as music playing. This section is interactive, so you can control the music without leaving the app.

5. No more lightning, but USB-C
The iPhone 15 Plus no longer has a lightning connection. Instead you will now find a USB-C connection. Handy, because then you can charge the iPhone with the cable from the MacBook Air. It is also nice that you can now charge your AirPods with your iPhone by connecting them with a cable.
6. Plus Pricing
