iPhone 16 is coming

This year, four new iPhones will be released again. We see the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Like every year, the regular iPhones take over a number of functions from the Pro models of last year. This was also the case with the iPhone 15, the phone then got the Dynamic Island and the 48-megapixel camera that we previously saw with the iPhone 14 Pro.

The iPhone 16 will reportedly get a number of features that we already know from the iPhone 15 Pro. Apple has equipped the iPhone 15 Pro with many new features, such as the action button, making spatial videos, a titanium casing and the A17 Pro chip. 1. Action button

With the iPhone 15 Pro (Max), Apple introduced the action button for the first time. Of course, this button was not entirely new, because the Apple Watch Ultra (first and second generation) also have an action button. You choose which function is linked to the button, for example, you can choose from the camera, flashlight or Shortcuts app. With iOS 18, many more functions will be added.

The iPhone 15 (Plus) has to do without an action button, but it is expected that Apple will finally say goodbye to the action button with the iPhone 16 (Plus). mutebutton. Instead, all iPhones this year will get an action button. With the iPhone 16 Pro (Max), Apple even introduces a new button, which is called the Capture Button. This gives you easy access to camera and video functions. It is likely that the Capture Button this year exclusively for the Pro models.

2. Spatial videos

The Apple Vision Pro is finally available in Europe, and one of its coolest features is the ability to watch spatial videos. These videos are recorded in such a way that when you watch them back, it feels like you’re right in the middle of the video. At the moment, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max support spatial videos, but it’s expected that the feature will also come to the iPhone 16.

To achieve this, Apple is making a small change to the back of the device, as the camera island is being adjusted. On the iPhone 15, we see two lenses placed diagonally from each other, but on the iPhone 16, the lenses are placed directly below each other. With this new layout, it is possible to make spatial videos with the iPhone 16. The function is coming to both the iPhone 16 (Plus) and the iPhone 16 Pro (Max).

3. Apple Intelligence

At WWDC 2024, Apple finally announced Apple Intelligence. This is the latest technology that works with artificial intelligence. Almost all apps are expanded with the technology, for example Siri becomes much smarter through the integration of ChatGPT and applications get a handy writing aid. The ‘normal’ iPhone 15 (Plus) has to do without these features, but it is expected that the functions will come to the iPhone 16 (Plus).

For now, Apple Intelligence will only be available on iPhones that run on the A17 Pro chip, which are the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to Apple, these devices have enough computing power to work with artificial intelligence on a large scale. This year, all iPhones will run on the new A18 chip, which will undoubtedly work with Apple Intelligence. You will therefore soon be able to use all AI functions on the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus.

Release of the iPhone 16

The iPhone 16 will get many of the features that we now see in the iPhone 15 Pro. From September, you will no longer need a Pro model to use these advanced features. In addition, the iPhone 16 will be a lot cheaper than the iPhone 15 Pro, which you can currently get for € 989. For the iPhone 15 Pro Max you even pay € 1,209. The iPhone 15 has a price of € 789, the iPhone 16 will probably get a similar price.
