Apple seems to be fully focusing on the camera again with the iPhone 18 Pro. According to rumors, there are some nice improvements coming.
iPhone 18 Pro camera: you can expect these improvements
The reason why someone chooses a Pro model of the iPhone is often because of the camera. And that is also what makes the iPhone 18 Pro extra interesting. Various rumors say that the camera of the iPhone 18 Pro will receive some nice updates.

The biggest change is rumored to be a variable aperture for the main camera. Current iPhones still have a fixed aperture of f/1.78. With a variable aperture you can play more with the depth of field, among other things. This is the amount of haze you see in the background of your photos.
This rumor is not new, as this feature would first come to the iPhone 17 Pro (Max). That ultimately did not happen, but it looks like it will now happen with the iPhone 18 Pro. Also the user Digital Chat Station from the Chinese social website Weibo (which often shares these types of rumors) now says the same. However, it is not yet clear whether this function will be available on both iPhone 18 Pro models or only on the Pro Max.

That is not the only thing that Apple will change. The telephoto lens would have a larger aperture. The current telephoto lens (the zoom lens) of the iPhone 17 Pro has an aperture of f/2.8. But if Apple also starts tinkering with the aperture of this lens, that would of course only be nice.
