Although the iPhone Air was certainly not a bad device, it did not appeal to the general public. The fact that the smartphone was very thin did not seem interesting enough to buy the device.

The suggested retail price certainly didn’t help either. The iPhone 17 Air was priced at €1,229 upon release. That made a difference of about 260 euros compared to the price of a regular iPhone 17 (which is now available for €953.99). And if you chose the iPhone 17 Pro, it was ‘only’ 100 euros more expensive than the price of an iPhone Air.

According to rumors, Apple is now planning to redesign the iPhone Air. The company is now considering adding a second camera and lowering the price a bit so that more people will want to buy it.

We hope that Apple indeed plans to do this, because as you could read in our iPhone Air review, we were quite satisfied with the device. But we did think that the camera (and battery life) could use an upgrade. We also thought the price was a bit on the high side. If Apple actually fixes all these problems, the iPhone Air 2 could become quite a big hit.
