There is a good chance that you already know most of the functions of iOS 26, but in these iPhone tips we have 5 that you did not know yet.
5 features of iOS 26 that you hadn’t discovered yet
Of course, there are also people who already know all the functions of iOS 26. Still, we think there are many people who had not yet discovered the iOS 26 features in these iPhone tips. We have listed them for you!
1. Translate lyrics in Apple Music
If you listen to songs in other languages, Apple Music can now translate lyrics in real time. The only disadvantage is that Dutch is not yet supported. But if you listen to a French chanson, you can choose to translate the text into English. Tap the Lyrics view, then press the new Show Translation button at the bottom left and you’ll see the translated lyrics appear below the original lyrics, in sync with the music.

2. Take a photo with your AirPods
No, you can’t really take photos with your AirPods, but they do have a new function: in iOS 26 you can use them as a remote control for the camera shutter button on your iPhone. Open the Camera app and double-tap an AirPod to take a photo. This is ideal for group photos or when your phone is on a tripod across the room.
3. Edit PDFs with the Preview app
The Preview app, long a part of macOS, is integrated into iOS 26. You can also edit PDFs with it in Files or Mail. Tap the pencil icon and you can highlight text, add notes, sign documents or rearrange pages. No need for a third-party app anymore.

4. Add a wallpaper in Messages
You can now give text messages a unique feel in the Messages app. In iOS 26 you can set a custom background for conversations with people you have saved as contacts. That works as follows:
- Open the Messages app;
- Open a conversation with someone you saved as a contact;
- Tap the person’s name at the top;
- Tap ‘Wallpapers’.

You now have all kinds of options, including choosing suggestions, photos, creating your own color gradients, or a completely new background using Image Playground.
5. Swipe from the center of the screen to go back
Apple has added a new gesture for smoother navigation. You can now swipe right from the center of the screen to go back. This works in Safari, Settings, Mail and other standard apps. Try swiping from left to right from anywhere in the middle. You then immediately go back without having to touch the edge of the screen.
