Do you expect a tax refund this year? The sooner your declaration, the sooner you have the money in your account! But if you start without preparation, you run the risk that you will be faced with surprises. That is why we show you in the iPhone tips of this week how you prevent that.
To start with, you need a number of information. A large part is already filled in, but you still need the data to check if everything is correct. Think of your citizen service number and your annual statement. The tax authorities already have one list Made for you, which you can easily print and check off.
1. Make sure DigiD
Whatever you need for your tax return is one DigiD. If you don’t have it yet, you have to request it immediately. It takes some time before you can use your DigiD. Then you have a number of options to use your DigiD, but the easiest is via the DigiD app. You must first activate it before use, so keep that in mind!
2. Make a declaration online
Have you installed and activated your DigiD and the app? Then you can make a declaration on The website of the Tax Authorities. The first thing you have to do there is log in with your DigiD. If that succeeded, all your data will appear automatically. It is then a matter of checking whether everything has been filled in and whether everything has been filled in properly. At the end you have to sign and send your declaration. That also points out automatically.
3. Via the App Report Income Tax
The App Report Income Tax is especially useful if you are going to do the tax return via your iPhone, but also works on your iPad or Mac. The app is specially designed to make your declaration as quickly and easily as possible. Just like on the website, you just have to follow a number of steps here, with a lot of data being filled in in advance so that you mainly have to check whether everything is correct.
Also with the government income tax app from the government you must first log in with the DigiD app. You can then immediately start with the tax return. Don’t you get out of it immediately? Then you can simply close the income tax app and continue at a later time. The completed information is stored in the app.
In some cases it is not possible to use the app of the tax return, then you are also dependent on the website of the tax authorities. That is the case if, for example, you have rented out your home, have a company, live abroad or have a foreign account. Read here when you have to do income tax via the website and therefore cannot use the app. You still have until 1 May to make a declaration.
