Irmscher does very intense things with Opel Astra

In 2024, the Opel Astra is not exactly a car for those who want to stand out, but Irmscher doesn’t care about that. The German tuner also knows how to handle the drivetrain.

It is no surprise that Irmscher still likes to indulge in Opels. The current Astra has also been tackled by the gentlemen and ladies who have been working on creations from Rüsselsheim for decades. The sporty top version, the GSe, received a major visual overhaul just a year ago. Now Irmscher is going a step further, with this most likely also GSe-based IRC.

We say most likely, because it is not further explained which beating heart the Irmscher Opel Astra IRC has. However, people are talking about an intended system power of 260 hp and then it must almost be an upgraded version of the normally 225 hp GSe drivetrain. With that power, the Astra finally comes close to the 300 hp that other plug-in hybrid Stellantis products achieve.

Irmscher also does not report what the power spurt means for performance on the road. For the time being, it also remains a limited image of a car that clearly still exists purely digitally. In any case, we see very intense decoration, because the Astra has a body kit that makes it considerably wider and there is an immense spoiler on the back. Irmscher says it is still considering whether to put the Astra IRC into production.
