Razer Phone Cooler Chroma: What is it?
You may know the company Razer from countless accessories that are aimed at the gaming market. Mice and keyboards, for example, with just a little too much RGB lighting. Now Razer comes with a remarkable iPhone gadget.
You attach the Razer Phone Cooler Chroma to the back of your iPhone with MagSafe. There it then acts as a fan to cool your phone. And of course there are enough LEDs on it to display the complete rainbow of colors.
Do you need this?
Under normal circumstances, an iPhone hardly gets so hot that you need extra cooling. But if the A15 chip of, for example, the iPhone 13 Pro is fully loaded for a long time, you will still feel that the back can get warm and sometimes hot. That can happen when you’re busy gaming in Apple Arcade.
The Razer Phone Cooler Chroma ensures that your phone stays nice and cool. This protects your battery on the one hand, and ensures that you continue to have the same graphical performance in games on the other. But such a cooling also has added value for other apps that require a lot of power from the processor.
Disadvantages of the Phone Cooler Chroma
Unfortunately, the Phone Cooler Chroma does have one major drawback. Although Razer markets it as a ‘mobile gaming accessory’, it is by no means ‘mobile’ due to the missing battery. You should always have a usb-c power bank with you (or just a usb-c charger), otherwise you will only have a rather clunky PopSocket on the back of your iPhone.
