Iveco Daily renewed

Iveco has once again examined its Daily. We spot a new grille, but the biggest news is under the skin and inside.

The current Iveco Daily appeared in 2014 and also received a facelift in 2019. Iveco therefore does not concentrate on the still quite fresh exterior, although the grille with the horizontal slats is new. However, the heavy orderer will mainly receive some upgrades that should make life with and use of this bus easier. The cost picture also looks better, according to Iveco.

The latter is mainly due to the arrival of a new six-speed manual transmission. It should be more solid and shift better than its predecessor. In addition, the cooking oil does not need to be replaced for the first 350,000 km, which in turn reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), which is very important for this market.

Air Pro

Bigger news is the arrival of an Air Pro chassis. A new pneumatic suspension system should not only take comfort to a higher level, but also make the Daily more responsive to heavy loads. It is also possible to temporarily lower the Daily on its legs, so that loading and unloading is easier.

There are also new seats for extra comfort. This is no superfluous luxury, because a Daily is really such a vehicle that users sit in all day long. Also nice: there is a new infotainment system with Amazon Alexa, so that voice control of, for example, the navigation should work better. That’s nice when you have to drive to dozens of addresses every day. It is also easier to maintain contact with your colleagues via ‘Mycommunity’.

In terms of size, the Iveco Daily does not even differ that much from the Fiat Ducato, but with its ladder chassis, powertrains and construction, it clearly focuses on the heavier work in the large van segment.
