With the launch of the ETNA, the French motorcycle clothing manufacturer IXON has launched a very special “Adventure” motorcycle jacket. The four-season jacket has a waterproof and removable top coat, with a very ventilated top underneath.
While many manufacturers opt for a separate removable waterproof lining on the inside of all-weather “Adventure” outfits in order to keep the outside as breathable as possible, at IXON they have turned the tables on the ETNA, with a removable waterproof outer jacket on the outside.
The 100% waterproof top is made of Softshell laminate with Teflon treatment (XDRY3L 2-way stretch), water column of 26,000 and 20,000 breathability. The bottom of the jacket itself is made of the same material, the top is made of highly breathable mesh, the inside of the jacket is completely Softmesh. A removable thermal lining is provided for cold days.
The ETNA features 3 external hand pockets, 1 waterproof pocket with FIDLOCK magnetic closure, 1 underarm pocket, 1 side pocket and 2 back pockets in the base jacket and: 1 chest pocket, 1 Napoleon pocket, 1 underarm pocket in the removable top half of jacket. There is 1 waterproof wallet pocket on the inside and 2 pockets in the thermal lining.
The jacket also has a tightenable and removable hood and is adjustable at the wrist (armpit piece + velcro + strap), forearms (elastic belt + press studs) and biceps (press studs & elastic straps). The ETNA has an AA CE classification and is equipped with Type A level 1 protectors at the shoulders and elbows. Optional are type B protectors for shoulder/elbow, as well as back and chest protectors for which pockets are already provided.
