Jaguar I-Pace disappears sooner than expected

Jaguar will become a fully electric brand in 2025 and will therefore put all its fuel models outside the door. The electric Jaguar I-Pace seemed to be allowed to stay for a while, but the brand has come back to that.

Jaguar is on the verge of a massive change of course. The British brand will be fully electric from 2025, which means that the XE, XF, E-Pace, F-Pace and F-Type will have to clear the field. The already purely electric Jaguar I-Pace would be the only current Jaguar offspring to survive the revolution. At least that was the plan of former Jaguar CEO Thierry Bolloré. His successor, the recently appointed Adrian Mardell, apparently has other ideas for the five-year-old EV.

In conversation with Coach informs Mardell that the Jaguar I-Pace has to call it a day before the big turnaround. According to Mardell, it is not yet clear when that will be exactly. As mentioned, the introduction of new electric Jaguars is scheduled for 2025, although Jaguar wants to scrap its existing models, of course, in line with the introduction of new plans. “We don’t want to be off the market for too long, especially with the electric model,” said Mardell. So it will take another two years before the I-Pace disappears from the showroom. At the beginning of this year, the I-Pace also received a refresher.

For the Dutch market, the disappearance of the I-Pace makes little difference. Only six copies were sold this year, last year the counter was stuck at eight and in 2021 at eighteen copies. In the first year of sales (2018), the I-Pace was a huge success, partly thanks to the favorable addition. At that time, no fewer than 3,526 units were sold. In one fell swoop it became the best-selling Jaguar in our country since 1983 (our figures don’t go any further back).
