Jeep Grand Cherokee ready for debut

The Jeep Grand Cherokee L, unveiled this year, gets a smaller L-less brother: the Grand Cherokee. Now we also know when Jeep will unveil the new Grand Cherokee.

Jeep enthusiasts can mark the calendar with a big red circle for September 29, the day Jeep unveils the new Grand Cherokee. For those same Jeep enthusiasts, the Grand Cherokee will also immediately be the smallest surprise.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee has already been unveiled in the United States as a longer Grand Cherokee L, a three-row SUV. That 5.2 meter long Grand Cherokee L is about 40 centimeters longer than the current Grand Cherokee. The new L-less Grand Cherokee will make that difference in length smaller, it is not inconceivable that the new Jeep Grand Cherokee simply taps the 5 meters. The design of the Jeep Grand Cherokee is very similar to that of the longer version. Jeep itself has already shown an image that made that clear and on recent spy records the new Jeep Grand Cherokee could even be seen from all angles. However, the Grand Cherokee will have a more slanting rear and different bumper work from that of the Grand Cherokee L.

Jeep has already indicated that the Grand Cherokee will be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. That could suddenly give the car a friendlier price tag on the Dutch market, although the importer has not yet been able to tell us anything about the possible arrival of the new Grand Cherokee to our country.
