The KeySmart iPro is a key holder that uses Apple’s “Find My” feature. This means you can easily find your keys via the “Find My” app if you misplace them.
You can add up to 14 physical keys to the KeySmart iPro and the device also offers various additional functions. Consider, for example, a flashlight, a bottle opener and of course the search function.
KeySmart iPro
The KeySmart iPro is a key organizer in which you can attach up to 14 keys, making it a kind of Swiss army knife. Place the keys between the left and right screws. The screws are 4 millimeters thick, so the keys you want to add must have an opening for the screw to pass through. This is usually not a problem with most (house) keys, but there are also plenty of keys where the screw does not fit. In that case you will have to enlarge the hole with a drill to make them fit. This makes attaching the keys inconvenient and quite difficult.
Place a plastic ring between the keys as a spacer. This makes it easier to slide the keys out of the organizer. The spacers are supplied as standard. The package also includes a special ring with an eyelet that allows you to attach your car keys to the KeySmart iPro. A bottle opener is also included for opening crown caps.
The most important function of the KeySmart iPro is of course the search functionality via the global Apple Find My network. The electronics that make this possible are neatly integrated into one of the organizer panels. In the middle there is a USB-C port that allows you to charge the internal battery. The charging status is shown with an LED indicator. The KeySmart iPro has a battery life of approximately 30 days. You can view the battery level in the Find My app.
The KeySmart iPro also has a built-in speaker that can play sounds to make it easier to find your keys.
Apple Find My functionality
The Apple Find My network is a global, encrypted and anonymous system of hundreds of thousands of Apple devices that helps track lost or stolen items. When an Apple device searches for a lost device or object, nearby Apple devices pick up the Bluetooth signal and send the location securely and anonymously to iCloud. This network ensures user privacy as only the owner has access to the location data, and it works automatically without others noticing.
The “Apple Find My” functionality of the KeySmart iPro makes it possible to trace your key ring anywhere via the Apple Find My network on all your Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.
Immediately after connecting to the Find My app, the KeySmart iPro appears as an item in the overview of your devices and offers you the following functionality:
- You see the current or last known location on a map in the Find My app, which is useful for transfers or lost luggage, for example.
- If your luggage is nearby, you can have the lock play a sound to quickly find it among other bags.
- In the event of loss or theft, you can enable “Lost Mode”: others will receive a notification via the Find My network and can inform you via the displayed contact message if they find your lock.
- The location updates go through millions of other Apple devices that work together anonymously to locate your stuff.
- The location data is end-to-end encrypted; only you have insight into where your lock is located.
- The lock works completely without separate subscription or service costs, because it uses the existing Apple Find My network.
Lost mode
The “Lost mode” for the smart lock in Apple Find My works similar to that for devices. When you activate Lost Mode for an object, such as an AirTag or other compatible item, the object is marked as lost. You can leave a message and phone number that will be visible to whoever finds the item. The location of the object is also tracked as soon as it comes within range of an Apple device, so you can find it better. This helps to better protect your personal items and get them back if they are lost.
Flashlight function
The KeySmart iPro is equipped with a built-in mini LED light, which serves as an aid to locate the keyhole in the dark. By pressing and holding the button, the LED light is activated. By pressing the button twice in succession, the light will remain on for 10 seconds, after which it will automatically turn off.
The button for switching on the lighting is quite small and difficult to press with cold fingers. The light output of the LED light is very limited and only useful in complete darkness. Perhaps practical as a small emergency light on your key ring, but not suitable as a full-fledged flashlight for long-term use.

With the KeySmart iPro you can store up to 14 different keys and use them with a sliding mechanism, similar to a Swiss army knife. This works best with keys that have a round hole in the center. Unfortunately, this is of course not the case for all keys.
Thanks to the built-in Find my functionality, you can easily find your keys if you lose them. However, the battery life is only 30 days, which is on the short side. It is therefore important to pay close attention to when the battery level becomes low.
The slide-out mechanism of the KeySmart iPro is something you have to love, but in practice it turns out not to be very useful. In addition, the device has a limited battery life and the extra functions, such as the flashlight, are so minimal that they offer no added value.
A simple bunch of keys with an Airtag attached to it is simply a much more effective solution.
