The new generation Ceed has certainly not done Kia any harm so far. The model is gaining popularity and is now available with four different body styles. Buyers, however, have to do without diesel option since this month.
The CRDi diesel engines have been removed from the price list for all four Ceeds. This applies to the hatchback as well as the Sportswagon, Proceed and raised XCeed. Customers could choose from two diesel engines with the current Ceed: the 1.6 CRDi with 115 or 136 hp. However, these versions have disappeared from the current price list.
However, it does not stop there, because the strongest petrol version has also disappeared from the price list. In addition to a 1.0 and 1.4 T-GDI, Kia until recently also offered a 1.6 T-GDI with 204 hp. That engine was available for the regular Ceed, XCeed and Proceed.
Inquiry with the Dutch importer shows that this is only a temporary choice. There would be minor changes to the model making these engines temporarily unavailable. It is not certain when they will return, but Kia promises to come with more news in the last quarter of this year.
