KTM 2023 390 Adventure: now also with spoked wheels

With the 390 Adventure, KTM already had a super fun A2-capable Allroad with which you could also go off the asphalt, but because it can never go crazy enough for some, the Austrians are taking it one step further with the 390 Adventure for model year 2023 moved on.

KTM 2023 390 Adventure: now also with spoked wheels

We were impressed by the little Adventure that was put on the market by KTM two years ago. Just like the other 390 family members, it is fully equipped with a TFT color display and, on top of that, equipped with traction control for the first time – unique in its class.

During our comparison with the BMW G 310 GS, Peter was so impressed that he said he would seriously consider the bike as a successor to his own 990 Adventure, because you don’t really need more than that in the Netherlands and he is for trips in the south of France nowadays puts the engine in the bus anyway.

For model year 2023, KTM has now gone one step further. According to the Austrians, the 390 Adventure is one of the most versatile bikes in the KTM range, because the bike is not only about epic outings, but also everyday use. If you’re looking for a reliable and low-maintenance motorcycle for commuting, with which you can also bark off-road, then you don’t have to look any further, according to KTM.

In addition to the fact that KTM has refreshed the design of the 2023 390 Adventure, the aluminum cast wheels have been exchanged for very nice, black anodized aluminum spoke wheels in the format 19″ front and 17″ rear, so that you can now safely take the most extreme potholes and stones you can, without having to worry that your trip will soon come to an end. According to KTM, the strengths of the rest of the 390 Adventure warranted this upgrade, to really make “adventure” part of the daily routine.

On the engine front, the 2023 version is identical to its predecessor, with a peak power of 44 hp and a maximum torque of 37 Nm that is released at 7,000 rpm. Two catalytic converters ensure that the exhaust gases are Euro5 compliant, while the 14.5 liter petrol tank should give the engine a range of over 350 kilometers.

We already said that the 390 Adventure is the most complete bike in its class, but there are also plenty of bikes out there that have to make do with less. Let’s sum it up for you: ride-by-wire throttle control, traction control, cornering ABS, an Offroad driving mode (more rear wheel slip) and a linked Offroad ABS (disabled at the rear, reduced at the front).

If you don’t want to know anything about spoked wheels, then you don’t have to fear. In addition to the spoked version, the version with cast wheels remains available.
