KTM has rolled out a recall for all 2018-2020 LC4 models from both KTM and Husqvarna. The clutch servo cylinder may be damaged and should be inspected and replaced if necessary.
In November 2018, an increase in the number of warranty claims was acknowledged by KTM AG Customer Service, after which market monitoring was started with regard to the clutch servo cylinder.
The first damaged servo cylinders were returned in the first quarter of 2019, after which the supplier was informed and a joint investigation was started. In the course of 2019, several reports came from the market and further investigation into the cause of the problem was carried out.
Research has shown that the gasket of the so-called Bellow-style servo cylinder is the culprit, deviations during assembly can damage the gasket, making the clutch increasingly difficult to operate and shifting becomes increasingly difficult.
The recall affects all 2018-2020 LC4 engines and that’s quite a list. At the KTM / Husqvarna dealers, the servo cylinder will be replaced with the upgraded version if necessary.
