Are you hoping for new Apple devices with mini LED screen in the near future? You probably have to wait another year.
Apple devices with mini LED screens are taking longer
Apple doesn’t plan to release another 11-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED screen this year. Well-known and reliable Apple analyst says so Ming-Chi Kuo† However, the iPad Pro isn’t the only device he mentions; according to Kuo, no new Apple device will have a mini-LED screen in 2022. This is due to “financial concerns,” the analyst said.
Mini LED screens offer higher contrast, better colors and deeper black levels than an LCD screen. In terms of properties, mini-LED screens come close to OLED panels, which Apple uses for its iPhones. Compared to LCD technology, mini LED looks a lot better. It is therefore a shame that we will not see it in more Apple devices this year.
Ross Young, another well-known name in Apple land, largely agrees with Kuo’s statement. According to him, however, Apple is working on a 27-inch Mac screen with mini-LED technology before 2022. This may be an updated version of the Pro Display XDR.
Which Apple products will we see this year?
Apple recently announced its new iPhone SE, iPad Air, Mac Studio and Studio Display. However, the manufacturer is far from finished before 2022. According to the rumors, a MacBook Air with a new design will be coming soon. The laptop would come on the market in different colors and have white screen edges. Under the hood we will probably find a brand new M2 chip.

We’ve also been hearing rumors for a while about an updated entry-level version of the MacBook Pro and a refreshed iMac. In September we will of course get new iPhones. These are reportedly called the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. We’re pretty sure Apple will be announcing the Apple Watch Series 8 at the same event.
