The corona virus spreads wildly and also keeps the car news in its grip. After earlier manufacturers such as Fiat, Lamborghini is now also closing the doors of its Italian factory.
The closure of the Northern Italian factory in Sant’Agata has been announced to all employees by email. The factory tires will remain idle until at least March 25. This puts a stop to all Lamborghini production, as the factory in the suburbs of Bologna is the only place where Italian sports cars see the light of day. “This measure is an act of social responsibility and a high sensitivity to our people, in the extraordinary situation we are now in,” said CEO Stefano Domenicali.
In addition to the closure, this promises to be a tough year for Lamborghini anyway. After the United States, China is the largest market for the manufacturer. After the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in that country, car trading there has collapsed rigorously.
