Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato: crazy cross version

Lamborghini has released the first photos of perhaps the craziest Huracán ever. Meet the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, a raised Huracán with crossover-like elements with which you should also be able to enjoy yourself off the asphalt.

With the 911 Dakar, Porsche is adding an off-road 911 to its range and Lamborghini has also been tempted to develop an adventurous supercar. In 2019 Lamborghini playfully showed with the Sterrato Concept what a Huracán with mountain boots could look like. The Italians actually come up with a production version and now we actually get to see the first photos.

The production version of the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato Concept is unsurprisingly simply called Huracán Sterrato. ‘Sterrato’ in Italian means something like ‘unpaved’ and with that the manufacturer indicates exactly on which surface his newcomer also feels at home. Lamborghini is not yet releasing extensive technical specifications, although it is certain that the Huracán Sterrato has a V10 and four-wheel drive.

The V10 is not that surprising, but still special. The Huracán Sterrato is the last new model or derivative that Lamborghini presents with a petrol engine without electric assistance. In 2024, all Lamborghinis must have a (mild) hybrid powertrain, and with that, the Huracán Sterrato heralds the end of the traditional combustion engine that runs entirely on its own gasoline power.

The ‘pure’ V10 makes the Huracán Sterrato special, but the real attention grabber is the design. The new Huracán derivative has large black plastic attachments on the wheel arches that make the adventurous Italian a lot wider than the original. We also see extra black plastic in the bumper and an extra set of LED lamps and roof racks are also present. We do not yet know how large the ground clearance is. We don’t have to wait long for that information, Lamborghini will release all details of the Huracán Sterrato on November 30.
