Larger offer after best half year ever
Lamborghini is doing well. The Italian supercar maker proudly mentions that the first half of 2022 was the best half year ever for the brand in terms of turnover, sales and profit. In Sant’ Agata Bolognese there is hardly time to celebrate, because next month Lamborghini will come with quite a load of news.
Lamborghini will present three new cars next month. The brand does not say which exactly those are, but it is expected that it concerns the Huracán Sterrato and two new products in the Urus lineup. Lamborghini will probably present a more powerful and refined Urus, the Urus Evo. It is also expected that the super-SUV will come on the market as a plug-in hybrid.
Record half year
Lamborghini delivered 5,090 cars worldwide in the first six months of 2022. That is 4.9 percent more than in the first half of 2021. The Urus formed the lion’s share of the delivered cars with 61 percent, the Huracán and Aventador take the rest of the pie with 39 percent. Incidentally, you can almost completely eliminate the Aventador, because in fact Lamborghini had already stopped the production lines of the supercar. However, due to the shipping disaster with the Felicity Ace at the beginning of this year, Lamborghini was forced to restart production of the Aventador, in order to replace the lost copies. In total that was about 15 cars.
With those more than 5,000 episodes, Lamborghini achieved a turnover of €1.332 billion. Compared to 2021, turnover increased by 30.6 percent, much faster than the number of cars sold. America is the most important market for Lamborghini, where the brand delivered 1,521 cars. China comes in second with 576 units, followed by Germany (468), the United Kingdom (440) and the Middle East (282).
