For Huracan successor
Is the fuel engine on the verge of death? No. Lamborghini, for example, simply presents a brand new V8, which can also handle particularly high speeds. It will soon be in the successor to the Huracán.
Lamborghini, like virtually every car brand, is moving in a more electric direction and is only introducing electrified models, but that does not mean that the combustion engine is almost finished there. On the contrary; the Italians have developed a brand new 4.0-liter V8 with two turbos between the cylinder banks, which will soon be used in the successor to the Lamborghini Huracán. It is true that the sound of the V10 from the Huracán will soon be a loss, but this new eight-cylinder does everything it can to compensate for that. This is a power source that only reaches the rev limiter at 10,000 revolutions per minute.
Just before that extremely high speed is reached, the V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft delivers its maximum power. Between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm to be precise. Then it is good for no less than 800 hp, the maximum torque of 730 Nm is available between 4,000 and 7,000 rpm. What about the electric part of the powertrain in the Huracán successor? Well, between the V8 and the eight-speed automatic transmission known from the Revuelto is an electric motor that delivers a maximum of 150 hp and 300 Nm of power. However, there are a total of three electric motors present in the newcomer, possibly called Temerario. The other two are probably on the front axle, just like with the Revuelto.
