Lancia gets ten years to prove itself

But no, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares has decided otherwise. Lancia will have ten years and the financial means to prove itself, just like Alfa Romeo, Chrysler and DS. A few weeks ago, the ailing brand even got a new design director: Jean-Pierre Ploué.

Small city car based on the Peugeot 208

According to Automotive News Europe, three new Lancias are on the way, starting in 2024. They are a small city car, a compact hatchback and a compact crossover/suv. Lancia has reportedly already started developing the first, which will also be available with an electric motor and will use the CMP platform of the Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa.

The Lancia Delta may be coming back soon

The second new Lancia – an electric crossover – will be launched in 2026 and will be on the STLA Medium platform from Stellantis. The third upcoming model has not yet received the green light from top management. Rumor has it that it will be a compact hatchback with the well-known name Lancia Delta.

Chrysler models like Lancia on the market

The last time Fiat Chrysler Automobiles tried to pull Lancia out of the doldrums, it didn’t end well. FCA decided ten years ago simply to sell American Chrysler models with Lancia emblems. The Chrysler 300C became the Lancia Thema, the Chrysler Voyager the Lancia Voyager and the Chrysler 200 Convertible the Lancia Flavia.
