Volkswagen is preparing renewed infotainment for various models. A larger screen, as it appears in the facelifted Golf, is spread across the model range.
Just over a month ago, the facelifted Volkswagen Golf popped up in front of our spy photographer’s camera. The most striking thing about it was what happens in the interior. It contains a large infotainment screen. A unit that is no longer integrated in a wide panel that also contains the instruments, but a separate screen that protrudes from the dashboard. Not surprisingly, more Volkswagen models follow the example of the updated Golf. Our spy photographer has gathered evidence of that.

Volkswagen T-Roc
The next generation of Golf brother T-Roc is one of the models that will get such a screen. In the photo above we see the dashboard of the new T-Roc, which has now been screwed into a Golf for testing. The dashboard is largely wrapped up and so there is little to distinguish in details, but it is clear that there is a large screen in the center that is no longer seamlessly integrated into it, as is still the case today. There also seems to be a digital set of instruments in a separate panel on the dashboard in front of the steering wheel, as we already know from the ID3, ID4 and ID Buzz, for example.
Our photographer has also spotted the larger screen on the Tiguan, but there are no clear pictures of it. There are those of the Caddy (photo 3) and the Multivan (photo 4), which also get such a larger and separate infotainment screen with their facelift. The common denominator is that there is a kind of foot at the bottom of the screen, on which the climate control is housed. A similar setup as in the ID Buzz. It may offer good news for those who cannot get used to the climate control with haptic feedback just below the screen. It is quite possible that Volkswagen will make the climate control a bit larger and also install physical buttons for it. We may see this year how it turns out exactly, when we get to know the facelifted Golf.
