Lexus once again shows electric concept car

Lexus will present several electric concept cars at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show at the end of this month. We get to see one of those cars – and perhaps the most concrete one – today.

Like many other brands, Lexus wants to make the transition to a purely electric car range in the foreseeable future. It also wants to make cars that are more progressive and therefore more distinctive than we currently see with the RZ, partly thanks to new, revolutionary battery technology. You can read more about that here, in an article with a photo of what could be the concept car to be unveiled this month. Previously we were also able to take a dark look at the front, now the rear of the same car follows in an exciting upper right corner. It appears to be an elongated, low, coupe-like fastback, which, according to Lexus, is a concrete precursor to a production model that should appear in 2026. That year, this will be the first of a completely new generation of EVs from Lexus.

In Tokyo, however, Lexus says it will show not one, but several electric concept cars. We will undoubtedly have to deal with some of the cars that were shown in December 2021. Then Lexus suddenly showed off a huge fleet of new EVs, albeit still shrouded in mystery and without a concrete description. The Japan Mobility Show replaces the well-known Tokyo Motor Show and opens its doors to the public on October 26. A day earlier, on October 25, Lexus will hold a press conference about the new models.
