AirPods get cameras: you can do this with it

Apple is working on a new version of the AirPods. According to rumors, the future AirPods even get cameras. But what can you actually do with it?

AirPods get cameras (and you can do this)

According to usually reliable Apple connoisseur Mark Gurman, Apple is currently working on a new version of the AirPods. That is not so strange, because new earplugs from Apple come out every few years.

More striking is the new function for AirPods that Apple also works on. Gurman said that there will be cameras in the future ears. That will probably not be in the AirPods Pro 3, which will appear somewhere this year. But according to the Apple connoisseur, it is in the planning for the ears.

But what can you do with those cameras in the AirPods? According to rumors, it is a bit like the Visual Intelligence function that Apple has introduced for the iPhone 16. This allows you to get more information with the help of Apple Intelligence on the subject that the camera picks up. For example, it is possible to scan the information from a flyer and put it automatically in your agenda.

If this function also comes to the AirPods, you could also ask Siri something about your environment during (outside) exercise. You don’t even have to take the iPhone out of your pocket.

Another Apple connoisseur is also making a contribution to the cameras that will come in future AirPods. According to Ming Chi Kuo, Apple can, for example, also use them to work with other Apple products for registering hand movements. For example, you could pause your music with hand movements.

According to rumors, the cameras in the AirPods only come out somewhere in 2027 (at the earliest). This may be with the AirPods Pro 4.
