Ford is launching an all-new Mondeo in China that bypasses Europe. That Mondeo gets a premium brother from sister brand Lincoln. This is the Lincoln Zephyr.
Recently we were able to unravel the Mondeo mystery for the most part. Ford is launching an all-new Mondeo in China, a sedan with design elements from the Evos, which was developed especially for the Chinese market by the Changan Ford partnership. The Ford Mondeo gets a luxurious sister model in China next to it. We welcome: the Lincoln Z.
Lincoln Zephyr
Although Lincoln refers to his new sedan everywhere as ‘Z’, the car is secretly called Zephyr. We also read that historically sound model name on the tailgate. Doesn’t the look of this new Lincoln surprise you? That can of course be right. The overall shape of the car corresponds to that of the new Mondeo and on top of that we have already been able to show you the Zephyr. To make the celebration of recognition even bigger: the Zephyr is the production version of the Zephyr Reflection presented earlier this year, a study model on which it looks like two drops of water.
Lincoln Zephyr
The Lincoln Zephyr has recessed handles and the car is presented with more optical lifts than the Mondeo. For example, the model has an enormous grille with various chrome-colored glimmers and a strip runs from the front screen over the front door. The Zephyr has recessed handles, black A-pillars and an interior with an immense display. The screen measures no less than 27 inches and fills almost the entire width of the car. The Zephyr has a blown 2.0 four-cylinder petrol engine that allows the sedan to sprint to 100 km/h in 6.3 counts. Its starting price in China is about €35,300.
