Tears during Klokje Rond
Last year, the most interactive parts of AutoWeek, Klokje Rond and Op de Rollenbank, again provided the necessary entertainment and the necessary disappointments, Luc Vranken notes in retrospect.
It is remarkable that the inspections at Klokje Rond are often disappointing and the measurements on the Rollenbank are often better. For example, the BMW 750 iL, the Peugeot 406 Break and the 500 SEL recently did not score well. Is there something wrong with the quality of work in garage workshops? Or are car owners investing too little? And how is it possible that two-thirds of our barrels are made of… Barrel Brigade 2023 was illegal? Read: had an incorrect MOT approval? Should the supervisory authority, the RDW, perhaps move a little faster? We will zoom in further on this next year.
Just give me a low D-segmenter
Furthermore, a look back at the dying D-segment and in particular its station wagons, such as the Mazda 6 Sportbreak. After all, there is no more practical car convenience in a sturdy, serious package. That’s all you need. However, the A-segment diehard Kia Picanto also deserves applause.
People who drive used cars increasingly ask: “Should I switch to a used EV?” There is no need to hurry, the market is still quite erratic and in motion and we regularly receive complaints about the quality. Just a quick look, there is nothing wrong with that at the moment.
First we will enjoy the (semi-electric) new used endurance test Audi A3 e-tron from 2015 for the next six months. It will replace the Toyota Avensis Touring Sports. Luc and Marco are also quite curious about that.
